Amy Abbott's practice explores the negative stereotypes of female gender roles and taboos of sexual identity presenting an unprejudiced insight into gender roles and sexuality.

Illustrations are set in domestic settings contrasting the traditional social role of women as carers against the 'masculine' behaviour of her subject. The security of a domesticated household eneables the drawings to reveal an innate empathy and shared existence for females as prevalent beings therefore conceivably ridding gendered beliefs.
